This stylish weighted cushion is a useful tool in counselling rooms, waiting rooms, home, office, hospitals and schools. As it is also a great addition to the room decor, the Weighted Cushion is also a 'natural' environmental sensory offering for clients.
Attending therapy sessions can be an anxiety provoking experience for many. In order to engage in the therapeutic process, clients must be able to engage meaningfully, which needs to start with being in a relatively calm state.
Psychologists/counsellors/therapists etc. all recognise the benefit of having sensory equipment easily accessible to help keep clients calm and focused in order to engage in talking therapy. Using a readily available weighted cushion on the lap while engaging in therapy (or waiting) can be a useful sensory tool to help relax and calm clients.

How to use the weighted cushion
The Weighted Cushion can be used in a number of different ways. Our suggestion is to use it in a way that feels comfortable:
- Hug the Weighted Cushion to your chest while sitting
- Hug the Weighted Cushion to your chest while lying down
- Place the Weighted Cushion on your lap
- Sit on the floor with your legs straight. Place the Weighted Cushion on the lower part of your legs
- Lie on your front on the bed or floor and place the cushion on your back
Use to help with relaxation and calm. Use the Weighted Cushion for as long as required to feel the calm and comforting effects of the weight and softness.
